The Department is given
the responsibility of implementing various schemes and projects under the
State Government's mission on Human Development - Vision 2010. The
Department has prepared an action plan to achieve the Environment Vision
2010 and implementing the same through the Gujarat Pollution Control
Board, Gujarat Ecology Society and Gujarat Environment Management
Institute.

The Department is
responsible for over all administration of the Gujarat Pollution Control
Board, Gujarat Ecology Commission and the Gujarat Environment Management
Institute.
